30-06-08 Plaster and Cabinets

Well my claim that the the Plastering would not be complete by Fri was not far off the mark. All of the walls were up but they are still to complete all of the cornices and some of the garage panels around the lentils.
We caught up with some neighbours on the weekend who said that they saw plasterers in the house on Friday at 5am!!

There's lots of pics so Enjoy.

The image below shows the entry bulkhead all plastered up.

Here are our stairs already to be assembled on Wed. (I'd hate to see the instructions)

Here is our vanity unit with the additional cupboard doors we asked for. We are getting a flick-mixer, hence why you can't see any pipes sticking out from the wall.

Our Kitchen has now been installed - Yea! This is our walk-in-pantry with the additional cupboards and laminate bench top.

Here are some of the cabinets between the fridge alcove and the WIP. The depth of the overhead cupboard in this photo is too shallow. We asked for the top cupboards in this alcove to be an additional 100mm deeper (420mm instead of 320mm). Already been onto 'F' and he is going to have it rectified.

Here is the island bench minus the bench tops (they go on a lot later).

Here are the other wall cabinets and space for the oven and rangehood.

Our down pipes have also been installed.

Here are our laundry cabinets. You'll note that the washing machine stops have been plastered in and they are still in the wrong location!! Should be interesting to see how the plumbers fix this one.

Here is the additional bench and Overhead cupboards we included.

Oh, and here is the additional 'nib' wall we added to the end of the kitchen for those who are interested.

I love watching other Cremornes being built! Yours is progressing very quickly. Thanks for the pics!

I can't believe they have done so much! It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that B&P and M&M's kitchens went in. Are you happy with your "Licorice". Looks great! Can't wait to see it all completed. Nice to see so many different Cremorne's and all our different selection and variations.

Now correct me if I'm wrong. Do you have a little bit of wall at the end of your kitchen? Do you know that we asked for this as I saw the same thing in the house that I went to in Ferntree Gully to ask about their bricks. PD wouldn't do it!!!! Incredible if that is what you have done grrrrrr.

You must have been pleased to see soooooo much progress! Thanks for all the pics too ;-)

Hi HTB, Yes we did get the nib wall added and they seemed to think it was a common request at the time. Isn't it strange how they will do different things for some and not others, like M&Ms toilet configuration too. You have to question PDs standards sometimes.

BTW I have added an additional photo of the nib wall at the end of the post.

And we love the 'Licorice' cabinet colour and can't wait for the bench tops to be added.

Looks fantastic, guys - you must be so excited!!! Love the Licorice Linea - I'm having that in my pwdr rm and laundry base cabinets, so nice to see it made up in actual cabinets. I love your laundry laminex, too - nice and light. What is that one called?
I am absolutely dying to get to your stage....just to see some of the things you've picked actually come together....I imagine you're very happy with it - looking great! ;)

Just noticed the front entry. Nice feature there - wish I'd thought of it!

Hi Petal, the laundry Bench tops are ‘Stipple Cocoa’ and the cupboards are ‘Milkwood’. We tried to lighten up the room a little. FYI – the powder room is ‘Nocturne Oak’. The exciting part is gonna be when they install the splashbacks! You’ll have to wait to see what they are ;-) PS - you'll be amazed how fast your place wil go up.

Thanks BP, I had seen these in some other display homes (not Cremorne) and thought they looked schmicko!

Thanks for the extra pic of the nib wall.....it's a really good idea. Glad to hear that you are happy with your selections so far. Pretty exciting even for me to see your cabinets go in, I'll need a valium when we get to that stage......our slab is due to go down tomorrow. I went to block yesterday and there were still only the pipes sticking out of the ground. There weren't even the pods or re-inf. there waiting to be used. Not sure if they can get the formwork (?) done in a day (being today) for slab tomorrow? I remember your photos Tim of your girls picking at the pods. Might be in for some more bads news this arvo or a nice surprise to see concrete their tomorrow!

Better go......it's long enough!

Hey, nice pics...Similar cabinet colours to ours. Great to see you thought of maximising your laundry space. Coming along very nicely.

Wont take long now....
