The only visible difference was that the shower hobs had been started....
...and the downpipes have been connected to the storm water drains.
A couple of holes have appeared in the corridor walls - the plasterers or maintenance folk are gonna have to fix this one up. (maybe someone spat the dummy?)
The piles of rubbish are mounting up slowly too. I can’t believe how much plaster they throw out!
As mentioned in previous posts we have not opted for additional heating vents in the Ensuite and bathrooms, so I recently went out and purchased a pair of wall mountable heaters. They are 'IXL Tempo’s' and here are the specs:
• Instant, fan-boosted heat
• 2 heat settings: 1000W and 2400W
• 2 over-temperature safety devices
• "A" rated energy saving economical operation
• Colorbond steel construction
• Portable or optional wall-mount
• Recessed carry handles
• Thermostat heat control
• Suits rooms up to 50m3
• 2 year warranty
• Australian made
For the room size they will be heating, these will be ideal, and this way when getting up at the crack of dawn to go to work I won’t need to heat the entire house to have a shower ;-). Oh, and the little feet on the base of the units screw off too when you wall mount them.
I also picked up an IXL Turbo model off eBay for a great price for the garage/workshop too!

Nice heaters. We haven't added ducted heating either was thinking of having the IXL Tastic's. Will look into this down the track. Have you reduced the shower size in the ensuite? For a spa??
Wonder who put their fist through the wall!!!
Oh yeah! Great to see things ocming along. Regarding the rubbish, it gets worse! All for a good cause. Not sure what's going on with the holes in the wall, but at least at the moment it's OPP (Other People's Problem).
Did you get power points or wiring included for the bathroom heating? Must admit that we haven't worried too much about it, as we don't have heaters in our current house. Being on the top floor, I guess we could add them later. Perhaps. Great pictures!
Hi HTB, the picture looks deceiving I know, but the size is standard for the ensuite – it hasn’t been changed. A SPA…..hmm, we considered it and ended up deciding that we would eventually have one outside where we can get family and friends in. But that could be while away still. We looked at the IXL Tastics also, but from H1 comments we found that they only provided heat directly beneath them so if you were in the bath for instance you might miss out! This way you are assured of warming up the whole room. Also, the rooms are std with an exhaust fan so the IXL Tastic one sort of becomes redundant.
B&P, we will be getting our sparky to hard wire them in via the roof/wall cavity once handover is complete. Won’t be a problem being upstairs.
Hi T&L,
We have IXL heater/exhaust things on the ensuite and bathroom ceilings. I don't find they do much even when standing under them. I'm all for getting out of the shower into a warm room but I don't even think to turn those on !
Good idea about not having to heat the whole house !
Carolyn.
Still looking good, guys....and, need I remind you to look at our place when you're feeling like they're going slowly???? You are FLYING along compared to us!!!!
They do seem to waste a lot , don't they? DH spotted half a roll of cable in the rubbish cage the other day, so he dived in and grabbed it!!! Don't know what you'd do with left over plaster board, though......interior walls on a cubby for the cherubs??!
Hi T&L, Picture is very deceiving!!! I would have sworn that the shower in ensuite was smaller!
My parents live in Brisbane and have the Tastic's in their bathroom and ensuite. Just the light/heater combo (not the fan) and they are great and give off great heat. I've read conflicting opinions on H1 - all a bit confusing sometimes! At least you will be warm in the morning while Lou and the girls are fast asleep ZZZZzzzzzz......
Steve's with you on the outdoor spa! Better off out than in he says!
Actually he says "better off out than in" quite a few time a day hehehe
