9-4-08 Slab laid

We have a Slab! Lou went out with the Cherubs yesterday and grabbed a few pics of the guys laying the slab. When she arrived they had already used up seven truck loads and were waiting for some more to arrive.

This pic shows the balcony footings from the last post now filled to the brim.

The boys hanging around waiting.....

....and waiting....

They have to allow for it to set for 48hrs so there probably won't be much action for a couple of days. No doubt we will soon receive payment advice from PD to cough up the first installment of the 5. The framing should start on Thursday 'maybe'.

We had a 8 day wait from when the slab went down to when the frame appeared. All the timber and windows were delivered during this time. Good Luck. Take heaps of photos.

Yay - you have your slab - so exciting, isn't it?! Our slab was laid 2 days ago, and even today there's no action :( I was hoping they might deliver some of the timber, but even that hasn't happened . The concreters also told me that they could start framing 48hrs later, but obviously PD wait a little longer....8 days, I don't think I can stand it!!!Look forward to yours going up as ours does!

Thanks guys - 8 days without action will be annoying. They had the invoice for first stage payment in the letterbox the next day though!

Don't worry Mike the camera is getting a good workout ;-)

And Yes Carolyn the views are fantastic. Hopefully the surrounding houses don't get 'too' big and block them out. The Cherubs love coming to the block and playing. Can't wait till the frame is up and we can walk them through the place and show them where their rooms will be :-)

Hi Tim and Lou and girls, Congratulations on your slab!! How exciting! Hope the frame doesn't take too long to get started.

View is lovely. Hope you'll continue to see those sunsets, they are forgotten in this house, too much going on at that time of night with the kids - I'm sure you understand. Lilydale is a nice spot, how far away are you from there now?

Hi HTB, we live about 15 mins away, which doesn't seem like too much, but in peak hour it can drag on even more.
