29-4-08 Sislation and Bricks

Well the roof tiles are now all done - wow what a difference it makes -
looks like a house almost ;-)

Our bricks have been delivered. We love the colour. From all of the Cremorne's we have seen, both built, display and being built, none of them have been in 'Mocha', so it should be interesting seeing the finished house.

Here is a pic showing the colour.

Our house is also getting the alfoil wrap (sislation) treatment at the moment.

Got in touch with 'K' today and he is going to speak with 'F' to organise the first of two inspections - the Pre-plaster stage. 'Ks' a hard man to get a hold of - must be a fair bit of work coming out of Homeone http://forum.homeone.com.au/

Boy, yours seems to be coming along so quickly! I was wondering if you have to organise your own independent inspection if you want one? It seems as though a few people building with PD Lifestyle have mentioned this. We get that as part of the deal with PD Prestige (they use a company called BSS, we don't get to/have to choose our own). So would I be right in assuming if you want one you have to organise it?

Well the brickies finished our house today. I wonder if they will be moving over to your house tomorrow? Ask them if they have just finished a Cremorne.

Hi Guys, well you have super fast workers down in L/Dale! Your roofers worked just as quick as your framers.....wonder how quick the brickies are going to be?! Will be interesting to see if you get M&M's guys. Certainly taking shape. Lucky you! Bricks look good, probably more exciting to see them go up not knowing how they are going to look. Toni

Hi Petal,
We decided to organise an independant inpsection purley for piece of mind & from what we have heard - it is money well spent. No matter how closey you're looking at the daily work or how nice the supervisor is - we still aren't trained in this profession. It's not something we have to do as we also have BSS coming to inspect from PD as this is std across all PD homes. (see Perry's Blog)

M&M -If Lou gets time to ask the brickies between taking photos, I'll let you know ;-)(if it wasn't for her going up there so often during the week getting me updates and pics, I would go nuts!)

Toni - Good question - we (stupidly) added wall insulation, ceiling insulation and double glazed windows during the contract stage and had the 5 star rating done afterwards. The only changes PD had to make to get 5 stars was put door seals on the external doors! So we'll never know...

Peace of mind is a good thing to have! We're lucky, DH knows quite a bit about building (even though he's not in that industry) and his dad used to have a building co., and has continued to be involved in the building industry since, in various guises,so we're going to have him (FIL) come and do at least a frame inspection. You can never be too fastidious where building is concerned!
